Freedom from Glasses

March 28th, 2009

I enjoy the freedom I have now.  I enjoy being able to pick up a newspaper and just begin reading it with my morning coffee—not needing to fumble and hunt for my glasses.  I enjoy going out to restaurants with loved ones and friends and really connect with them without peering behind my glasses.  I love having the freedom to do many things—sports, and others, without having the hindrance of glasses or contact lenses to worry about.  I enjoy my life!

People that have never experienced being with prescription glasses each day to function may not appreciate this as much as those that have, but having good vision health is very important.  I consider myself lucky because my eyesight and vision condition has not been too bad when the doctor discovered that I needed glasses, and it had not worsened by the time I realized that I wanted to take things into my own hands and find ways and means to be free of my glasses—if not for good, at least for most times of the day and for most of my daily activities.

I came across natural vision improvement resources on the internet and I my interest was instantly sparked.  I was so tired of feeling helpless and without control over the way my eyes had gone bad.  I really wanted to be in control—to, at least try, do something about my vision!

I noticed improvements in my vision not long after I had started the exercises and begun changing my habits to better help my eyesight.  I am so happy now that I have the freedom that I do.

I guess the best message I can say about this experience is this—people can really make a difference in their vision health if they take the time to.  The benefits of great vision are endless and all there is to do is make the conscious choice to do something about it.

2 Simple Habits for Vision Improvement

March 24th, 2009

It takes a conscious effort to make a difference in the state and health of one’s vision.  Too many times, people neglect to see the importance of taking care of one’s eyes and one’s vision; and this leads to a myriad of manifested problems.  It takes a few changes in how each person goes about every day life to assure a positive impact to vision improvement and in the maintenance of good vision health.

Vision improvement and good eye health begins with understanding the importance of the parts of the eyes and their function to vision.  Making the lifestyle changes necessary may only become temporary if there is no true understanding of the ‘why’s’ of what must be done.  Seeing the importance and the effect each lifestyle change will have to vision improvement and health will significantly increase the likelihood of making them good habits instead of conscious actions.

First and foremost, people should focus on the simplest action the human body does involuntarily to help the eyes:  blinking.  Blinking functions as a means to lubricate and cleanse the outermost layer of the eyes.  It prevents bacteria and other foreign particles that may cause infections or eye conditions, from sticking to the outermost layer of the eyes.  It has been observed that during activities like watching TV, using the computer or reading, the rate of blinking slows.  This lessens the lubrication of the eyes and lessens the opportunities for the eyes to be cleansed.  Furthermore, drying out of the outermost layer of the eyes is not good for vision health.  Being conscious, then, about blinking at a normal rate during the mentioned activities will benefit the eyes a lot in the long run.

Another habit that can provide vision improvement is to remember to focus and refocus.  Instead of staring and focusing for long periods at a time on something like the screen of the computer, the TV or a book, move your attention to other things in the distance and in other areas every so often.  Staring a maintaining focus in one point or area has been found to be more stressful and straining to the eyes than when they are constantly changing focus.  Giving the eyes opportunities for movement are opportunities to lessen the strain on the muscles of the eyes.

These are two simple habits that can provide a wealth of difference to vision improvement and maintenance.  Acquiring them and making them habits done regularly really helps.

Good Habits for your Eyes

March 21st, 2009

There are a few simple things that you can do to make sure that you are caring for your eyes well amidst a busy day in front of the computer.  They are so simple and easy to do it is almost funny why not many people do them on a regular basis!

One of the most important things to be aware of as you try to naturally improve your vision is that the little things count.  Even an action as simple as blinking at the proper rate means a lot to vision health since blinking allows the eyes to get cleansed and re-lubricated.  Also, the few moments of rest and relaxation away form staring into a monitor or screen or paper work does wonders to the health of the eyes.

So, here are a few things that you should try to train yourself to be good habits for the eyes:

  1. Blink –make sure your eyes are properly lubricated by blinking.  Blinking also helps the eyes cleanse themselves from the dirt and the grime that may attach to the lenses of the eyes.
  2. Focus and re-focus – eyes actually get more strained when there is no movement and change in focus too much.  Learn to change the focus of your eyes a few moments every half hour or so.  Look out or at something far off in the distance.  Look at something close-by.  Just let your eyes move!
  3. Shut up—closing your eyes and resting them for a few moments every few hours will help your eyes and vision health.  You may also cover your eyes with the palms of your hand to rest them and soothe them.
  4. Massage – try to find the time to massage your eyes and the muscles around your eyes at least once a day.

The suggestions here are quite simple and easy to do but they do have a big impact on vision health especially if they are done everyday.  So take the time to focus on your vision.  It does not take long but the benefits are great!

Care for your Eyes

March 21st, 2009

I never really thought about the way I care about my eyes until I began feeling the effects of all the stresses that I inflicted on them.  My head ached and I began experiencing periods where I would get dizzy spells, blurring vision and redness and tearing of the eyes.  I guessed it was because of the prolonged computer use that I needed to have for my job, so I tried to live with it as best I could.  I didn’t want to get caught up in wearing prescription glasses for the rest of my life so I decided to take things into my own hands.  I was determined to get solutions that work without glasses.

One of the biggest things that I realized I was to blame for was that I had bad reading and computer use habits.  What I had been doing for years were major “no-no’s” for the health of my eyes.  I began consciously making changes with the way I was going about my day.  I made sure that I would take the time to rest my eyes and focus on other things instead of the hours upon hours of just staring into the monitor as I used to do.

I started doing vision exercises and I think they are helping me little by little, get the eyesight that I had taken for granted before.  My headaches are gone and I feel great.

I am happy for the information that I got on natural vision health and vision improvement.  I am glad that I did something about my vision problem early on and I don’t think I have any permanent vision problems because of my old habits.  I am also glad that the natural vision improvement exercises and the good habits for natural vision improvement are not difficult at all.  They have made things so much easier for me.

Natural Vision Improvement

March 20th, 2009

Natural vision improvement has been something that I have been trying to attain for many years.  I had been sick of years of being held back by my prescription glasses and I was determined to take charge of my vision health.

I took it upon myself to research and find ways and means to make my eyes stronger and better.  Laser treatments were too scary for me and they were too costly so they were not an option.

Fortunately, the internet contained so many resources that could help.  So many articles were about changing the existing bad habits that were not helping my eyesight and even doing exercises to focus on the muscles of the eye.  They were helpful and quite effective but I just felt that I could do a little bit more to hasten the improvement process and make my vision health even better.

I came across this article a few months ago about a berry that was said to help vision health.  After thoroughly reading up on the topic, I decided to try it.  Lo and behold, I found the missing piece to my search for better vision health!  After taking supplementation of Goji Berries for a few weeks, I really noticed an improvement in my vision.

I used to think that I was in a hopeless condition.  I would be stuck with my glasses for the rest of my life and there would be no hope for me to do something for my vision health.  I realized though that with a little bit of research, a little bit of discipline and little bit of will power to find the natural solution that is right for you and stick with it; there are solutions out there that work!

I am so happy with the regimen that I have now.  I feel better and I am even, slowly but surely, going without glasses for periods of time without having too much difficulty.  All thanks to my new habits, daily exercises and my Goji berries!

Diet and Eye Sight

March 19th, 2009

Did you know that looking at the food you eat has a direct effect on the health and well being of your eyesight?  Like any other organ of the body, the eyes are greatly affected by the type of food put into the body.  Eating healthily then is an important factor to vision health and must be taken into consideration.

Along with the proper nutrition to give the eyes the vitamins and minerals to support the functions and stresses the eyes go through on a daily basis, rest and relaxation is also very important.  The eyes need time to rest and recuperate, especially when prolonged time is spent on the computer or in doing tasks where the eyes are not given the best conditions to function.  A few minutes spent a couple of times a day just looking at the distance and enjoying whatever scenery is available, or closing the eyes a moment to relax the muscles and lubricate the eyes will do a lot of good for vision health.

What people do not realize is that taking care of the eyes and doing the necessary things to keep the eyes healthy is just as important as the rest of the body.  It is even funny that the healthiest people in the world seem to neglect the eyes!  Their only advantage is the fact that they eat right so their good nutrition helps the eyes somewhat.

What matters most, it seems, is the consciousness of the stresses that the eyes go through on a daily basis, and the recognition of the need for proper care.  Without this consciousness, the eyes suffer and continuously degenerate and break down and life would be more difficult.

With a little effort, a lot of benefit can be gained from taking a few moments to focus on the eyes.  Just being conscious about it and doing the simple steps to keep the eyes and vision healthy will make such a difference in the well-being of the whole person—not only the eyes.

Eye Sight

March 17th, 2009

Not many people think about how their every day lives affect their eyes or their eyesight.  Most take for granted that their eyes will function well even without the proper care and the proper rest.  Unfortunately, most people soon realize that the lack of care they put on their eyes take their toll eventually.

Our eyes are very important to the tasks and responsibilities that most people do each day.  There needs to be awareness about the proper way to care for the eyes so that they may work better for us as long as possible—hopefully for the rest of our lives.

The eyes are at work most of our waking hours.  It is one of the senses that we use constantly and they rarely have the chance to rest throughout the day.  Providing venues and opportunities for the eyes to rest every few hours will then make a difference and allow the eyes some much needed rest.  All there is to do is close your eyes and relax them for a few moments.  It does not need to take very long—a minute or two is good enough.  Do this a few times each day in between work, especially when working on the computer or reading.

Did you also know that the eyes are more strained when they stare fixed on a particular point, more then when they constantly focus and refocus?  So, one of the most important things to do also is to change the focus of your vision every few hours.  Take a break and look out of your window, then take a moment to study something that is close by like a button on your shirt.  Let your eyes move and relax from the strain of focusing mainly on a computer screen or your paper work.

These things are simple enough to do and don’t take very long.  Try them and see the difference.  You’re eyes will definitely thank you for the little efforts!
