Freedom from Glasses

March 28th, 2009

I enjoy the freedom I have now.  I enjoy being able to pick up a newspaper and just begin reading it with my morning coffee—not needing to fumble and hunt for my glasses.  I enjoy going out to restaurants with loved ones and friends and really connect with them without peering behind my glasses.  I love having the freedom to do many things—sports, and others, without having the hindrance of glasses or contact lenses to worry about.  I enjoy my life!

People that have never experienced being with prescription glasses each day to function may not appreciate this as much as those that have, but having good vision health is very important.  I consider myself lucky because my eyesight and vision condition has not been too bad when the doctor discovered that I needed glasses, and it had not worsened by the time I realized that I wanted to take things into my own hands and find ways and means to be free of my glasses—if not for good, at least for most times of the day and for most of my daily activities.

I came across natural vision improvement resources on the internet and I my interest was instantly sparked.  I was so tired of feeling helpless and without control over the way my eyes had gone bad.  I really wanted to be in control—to, at least try, do something about my vision!

I noticed improvements in my vision not long after I had started the exercises and begun changing my habits to better help my eyesight.  I am so happy now that I have the freedom that I do.

I guess the best message I can say about this experience is this—people can really make a difference in their vision health if they take the time to.  The benefits of great vision are endless and all there is to do is make the conscious choice to do something about it.

Breathing Techniquies

March 14th, 2009

Breathing is something very important to our vision.  It is funny how not many people really know how to breathe properly!  Breathing is something we don’t really put much thought into but doing it properly is something that should be done at all times to help correct vision problems naturally.

So what exactly is the proper way to breathe?  Take a few moments to concentrate on your breathing and notice the way your body moves as you inhale and exhale.  Did your chest rise and fall with each breath?  Well then….you have just noticed yourself breathing incorrectly!

The main idea is this—breathing should make the abdomen expand, not the chest!  This is known as abdominal breathing and this is essentially the proper way to breathe!

To practice the abdominal breathing and to go back to the proper way to breathe, do this simple exercise a few minutes each day.  All your will need is a flat surface to lie on—a firm mattress or a mat on the floor would be ideal, and a tiny pillow.

Lie flat on your back on the surface.  Bring your knees up, bending them so your feet are flat on the surface of the mattress or mat.  Then clutch the pillow behind your knees.  Put your right hand on your chest area and your left hand on top of your abdomen.

Breathe deeply and slowly and try to notice the movement your body makes.  Make sure that your abdomen is rising before your chest does.  The rise and fall of your chest should not be so noticeable as compared to your abdomen.

Do this a few minutes daily and do not be frustrated if you really have to consciously change the manner by which you breathe if it is incorrectly.  The purpose of the exercise is to instill the habit of breathing correctly.  With some practice, the proper way of breathing will come naturally.

Your vision will benefit from this exercise and so will the rest of your body.  So go ahead and breathe!
